Christmas village will be erected once again in front of the St. Sava’s temple in Belgrade, as the celebration of Orthodox Christmas on January 7th, is approaching. The village will open on January 4th, with the manifestation ending on January 28th. The celebrations will start with the handing of Christmas gifts to children by the Patriarch of Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej at St. Sava’s temple on January 4th, followed by the concert of Serbian army Guards band and band Balkanika.
On January 6th, a liturgy will be held at 09.00 and at midnight, while the traditional lighting of badnjak is set for 19.00. On the Christmas day, January 7th, the Christmas bred will be shared, while the Orthodox New Year celebration will take place on January 13th, also with a concert and a fireworks display.

Along with the concerts, the programme also includes children’s plays, and quiz finals for elementary school pupils. Guest can take a coach ride on the plateau, while several church choirs are also scheduled perform. More than 30 cabins are going to be build on the plateau, offering a wide variety of sweets, handcrafts, wine and other home-made foods and drinks.
