The 30th Jubilee Belgrade Marathon, under the slogan „Marathon brings together“, will be held on 22nd of April, on the street of Belgrade.
Belgrade marathon is one of the biggest sporting manifestation in Serbia, and the first one took place on 8th of May, 1988, in Belgrade.
This year maraton is specific because of changed route, which include Ada Bridge for the first time. 7000 competitors, from 70 countires, are expected to participate in races.
Organisators announced participation of succesessful, world famous athletes. Bob Beamon, Carl Lewis, Lasse Viren, Sergey Bubka, Marlene Ottey, Rosa Mota, Kevin Jang, Galina Chistyakova, Javier Sotomayor will participate in the 30th Belgrade marathon. One of the best Serbian competitors, Olivera Jevtić and Darko Živanović, will be also on the racetrack.
FUN RUN (5 km) – This is a non-competitive race. There is no registration, winners or placement. It’s open for participaion. The race starts at 10 PM at the juniction of Knez Miloš Street and Nikola Pašić Square (in front of the Serbian Parliament building). The finish is in front of „Moskva“ Hotel.
HALF MARATHON (21,1 km) – It’s open for participation. Children from 14 to 18 year old must provide a written parents consent in the Registration centre. The race starts at 10 PM at the junction of Bulevar kralja Aleksandra and Resavska street. The finish is in front of „Moskva“ Hotel.
MARATHON (42, 195 km) – The race is open for participation of everyone 18 or older. The race starts at 10 PM at the junction of Bulevar kralja Aleksandra and Resavska street. The finish is in front of „Moskva“ Hotel.
Winners of the half maraton and maraton will be declared on the stage, after races, at 13 PM.
Relay races and interesting race mothers will be also included in 30th Belgrade marathon. Persons with disabilities will equally participate in all races. Interested participants may run in the humanitarian races where they will collect money for people who need help.
Walk of responsible dog owner will be helded for the third time, as the part of Fun Run, at 10.30 PM. The goal of the walk is to promote responsible and humane behaviour towards the animals.
